Who we are: Reflections is an independent Christian home school drama club completely operated by volunteer parents and students as cast, crew, and staff. Reflections Dramatic Productions, LLC is a not-for-profit limited liability company started in 2013 by John and Kimberly Lepone to manage the productions of the Reflections drama club and serve as its legal entity.
Our Purpose: It is our hope that this program will allow a greater number of families to be able to come together in our common goals of using drama and speech as an effective outlet for our home school students as they use their talents for the Lord and to educate them in the skills needed to become well-rounded young adults and future Christian leaders in our homes, our churches, and our communities.
Mission Statement: I Peter 4:10-11 says, "As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen."
The goals of this drama club include several objectives, all of which are firmly founded on Scriptural principles of conduct and purpose.
1. Since our first goal is to be able to draw others to Christ through encouragement and personal witness, all members of the drama club are expected to have a personal relationship with the Lord through salvation by faith in Jesus Christ and a desire toward spiritual growth through a regular walk with Him in prayer, Bible reading, and regular church attendance and participation. All members are expected to share godly, Christian beliefs and worldview based on God's Word. All new members who have not previously worked with our directors on a previous project will be asked to complete a brief interview with our staff before participating in a new project.
2. As Christians, we must always rely on God's Word to direct everything we do, and as such, we will always strive to point others to Christ through all aspects of our work together, during all practices, performances, and group-wide activities.
3. As a secondary goal of Reflections, we desire to educate students in many areas that working in theater gives opportunity including dramatic and oral interpretation, public speaking, set design and construction, promotions, stage management, lighting, sound, costume design and construction, and makeup design. However, our goal is also to instruct our students in certain life skills through experience that comes from working in theater and drama. Such areas include teamwork, leadership, mentorship, communications, public relations, and Christian outreach.
Mrs. Kimberly Lepone earned a B.S. from Pensacola Christian College in Secondary Education with a minor in speech. During her college years, Kimberly was able to study under some of the most creative, knowledgeable, and influential Christian educators and gained many hours of practical experience, both on stage and behind the scenes, directing her first full-length drama when she was twenty-one years old.
Over the past 25 years, Mrs. Lepone has worked with children, teens, and adults, directing and managing cast and crew members in schools, churches, and home school support groups in over forty full-length productions. Mrs. Lepone and her husband John have been homeschooling their four beautiful children since 2001.
